Shopkeeper in Pune sells counterfeit engine oil
Pune police have arrested a shopkeeper for selling fake engine oil in the Dehu Road area. The case was registered on Friday under the Copyright Act. The shopkeeper, who lives in Hadapsar, was allegedly producing and selling the counterfeit oil. During a raid at the shop, police found the fake oil packed in small cans. These cans had labels that mimicked a well-known public sector company. The police seized over Rs 1.50 lakh worth of oil and cans during the operation. Authorities warn that this fake oil could damage vehicle engines and is causing financial losses for the legitimate company. A team from the company visited the shop and identified the counterfeit products, leading to the police investigation.
