Shreyas Iyer sets IPL record with ₹26.75 crore deal to join Punjab Kings

Shreyas Iyer has set a new record in the Indian Premier League by being acquired by Punjab Kings for ₹26.75 crore. This surpasses previous bids, with Delhi Capitals raising the price to ₹25 crore before PBKS won the auction. In other transactions, Punjab Kings used the Right to Match option to retain Arshdeep Singh for ₹18 crore. Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada was sold to Gujarat Titans for ₹10.75 crore, and Jos Buttler was acquired by the same team for ₹15.75 crore. Delhi Capitals secured Australian pacer Mitchell Starc for ₹11.75 crore after a bidding war. Starc, a prominent player in T20 cricket, returns to the IPL after a successful stint with Kolkata Knight Riders.
