Shreyas Iyer was a ball boy in IPL 2008
Shreyas Iyer, the captain of Punjab Kings, shared memories from his time as a ball boy during the first Indian Premier League (IPL) season in 2008. He recalled being at Wankhede Stadium for a match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. During this experience, Iyer met New Zealand player Ross Taylor, who played for RCB. Iyer, a fan of Taylor, approached him and expressed his admiration. He described feeling shy but happy to be part of the event. He also mentioned meeting Irfan Pathan, an all-rounder for Punjab Kings, who took the time to chat with him and the other ball boys. Iyer has had a successful career since starting in the IPL. He has scored over 3,100 runs and has been recognized for his performances. He made a name for himself with Delhi Capitals and won a title with Kolkata Knight Riders last year. Iyer is now focused on starting a strong campaign with Punjab Kings as they prepare to face Gujarat Titans on March 25.
