A tragic incident occurred in East Champaran, where a man and his second wife were killed by his own children. Bhagwan Shah, 52, and his wife Renu Devi, 50, were attacked at their home in Chakia. The violence reportedly stemmed from a dispute over property. Bhagwan’s children from his first marriage opposed his marriage to Renu, which took place just seven months ago after the death of his first wife. The couple did not have any children together. On Thursday, police arrested the accused: Bhagwan’s son Abhishek Kumar, daughter Jyoti Kumari, and Abhishek's wife Chandani Kumari. Their bodies were discovered after the accused attempted to cremate them in secret. Bhagwan’s body was found near their home, while Renu's body was located about 200 meters away in a maize field. The police reported that both victims had multiple injuries, including on their heads. Investigators believe the children used bamboo sticks and an iron rod in the attack. The accused have confessed to the crime and will be presented in court for further proceedings.
