Silent Hill f set in 1960s Japan, releases 2025
Silent Hill f is a new survival horror game from Konami. It will be the eighth main entry in the popular Silent Hill series. Unlike previous games, which were set in the small town of Silent Hill in Maine, this one will take place in Japan during the 1960s. It features a new protagonist, a high school student named Hinako Shimizu. The game was first announced in 2022, alongside the remake of Silent Hill 2. Although there is no official release date yet, pre-orders for physical copies are available. Many believe the game could be released in 2025, possibly around the Halloween season. Silent Hill f will be available on PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. Players can already wishlist the game on their preferred platform. A new trailer was revealed in March 2025, showcasing the eerie atmosphere of the fictional town of Ebisugaoka, which is inspired by a real-life location in Japan. In the trailer, we see Hinako walking through fog-covered streets and encountering terrifying creatures. The game promises a chilling experience, with strong psychological elements woven into the plot. Players will explore themes of friendship and betrayal as they guide Hinako through the dark twists of her town. As with other Silent Hill games, Silent Hill f will involve solving puzzles and battling monsters. While details on the combat system are still unclear, players can expect both melee and ranged options. Pre-orders are currently live for physical copies in the U.S., priced at $69.99. Digital pre-orders for PC players are not yet available, but they can wishlist the game on platforms like Steam. More news about the game is expected in the future.
