Sindh CM orders swift reconstruction of flood-damaged schools by mid-2025
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has ordered the reconstruction of 3,328 schools damaged by the 2022 floods by the end of this fiscal year. This is part of a broader effort to address the 19,808 schools affected. Currently, repair and reconstruction projects for 1,769 schools are underway, with funding from various local and foreign sources totaling Rs114.3 billion. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for close monitoring of these projects to ensure timely completion. A new dashboard has been created to track the status of all schools in Sindh, including those damaged by floods. CM Shah also plans to secure funding for the remaining 16,480 schools needing repairs or reconstruction.
