Sinema criticizes Dems' filibuster stance shift
Former Senator Kyrsten Sinema criticized Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats for their shift in stance on the filibuster. Sinema pointed out their previous calls to abolish it, contrasting with their recent support to use it against a GOP funding bill. Sinema highlighted the hypocrisy of Democrats who once opposed the filibuster but now sought to use it to block legislation. She referenced their past comments and questioned their sudden change of heart during the current funding negotiations. On Friday, ten Democrats joined 52 Republicans to advance a funding measure, breaking the filibuster. Ocasio-Cortez expressed outrage at Senate Democrats, particularly targeting Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for not obstructing the bill amid a looming government shutdown.
