Singapore man sentenced for child pornography possession
A man in Singapore has been sentenced to two years in prison and three strokes of the cane for possessing child pornography and committing voyeurism. The case involves Alfred Ee Sung Chong, who was arrested in July 2021 after police found images and videos of children in sexual situations on his devices. Ee, 32, admitted to downloading the illegal material for his own enjoyment. His electronic devices contained a total of 140 videos and 1,770 pictures depicting children engaging in sexual acts or in sexual poses. The crimes began in June 2019 when he secretly recorded videos of women’s undergarments in public places, such as MRT stations. He continued this behavior over the next few years, capturing videos of women in compromising positions. Police were notified of his actions in July 2021. After reviewing CCTV footage, they arrested him ten days later. On March 25, 2025, he was sentenced and his bail was set at $20,000. He is expected to start his prison term on April 11.
