Singaporean climber injured during descent on Mount Kinabalu
A Singaporean tourist got hurt while climbing Mount Kinabalu on Monday morning, March 24. The 56-year-old woman fell while descending the mountain at KM7.2 around 7 a.m. The local fire department received an emergency call at 7:33 a.m. A team of 17 rescue workers, along with park rangers and health officials, was quickly sent to help. They found the woman had head injuries and could not continue her descent. Rescuers provided first aid to help stop her bleeding. They then used a stretcher to carry her down the mountain to Timpohon Gate, which is the main entry point for climbers. Once they reached Timpohon Gate, the climber was handed over to an ambulance team for further medical treatment. The fire department completed their safety checks and ended the rescue operation at 12:04 p.m.
