Sisters accuse step-grandfather of molestation in Vadodara

In Vadodara, a 65-year-old man was warned by the 181 Abhayam helpline after two of his granddaughters accused him of molestation. The girls, aged 13 and 16, claimed that the inappropriate behavior started about a month ago. The girls live with their mother, who is in her second marriage. They moved in with their mother's new husband and his father. According to Abhayam officials, the girls initially thought their step-grandfather was showing affection, but his actions became more inappropriate over time. The situation escalated when the man entered their room and molested them a few days ago. After confiding in their mother, the girls were disappointed when she did not believe them. They then reached out to the Abhayam women's helpline for help. The parents did not want to file a police report. The step-grandfather promised not to repeat his actions, and no formal complaint was made. Abhayam counsellors have warned him that a future incident could result in arrest.
