Police have arrested six individuals, including a juvenile, in connection with a double murder case in Shahapur. The arrests occurred after two men, Mapanna Badiger and Ali Sab, were killed on March 16. According to Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar, three suspects, Hussaini, Shivappagouda, and Mohammad Riyaz, are accused of killing Mapanna, 55, in a rival attack. Mapanna was a known criminal and was attacked while returning to his village from Bheemarayanagudi. He died immediately at the scene. Ali Sab, also from Madriki village, managed to flee and hide after Mapanna's murder. However, upon learning of Mapanna's death, Mapanna's family and associates suspected Ali Sab was involved. They found him and attacked him with a knife. Ali Sab died en route to the hospital. In response, the police launched investigations after the wives of both victims filed complaints against 15 suspects. On March 19, a special police team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Javeed Inamdar, arrested three men linked to Mapanna's death. Meanwhile, Circle Inspector Sharanagowda Nyamannavar detained two suspects and the juvenile involved in Ali Sab's murder. All arrested individuals were brought before a local court and placed in judicial custody. The juvenile was sent to a special care facility for minors. The investigation is ongoing, according to Superintendent Shankar.
