Sixteen teams set to compete in 2025 girls hockey state tournament

The 2025 girls hockey state tournament begins Wednesday with 16 teams competing for titles. Holy Family, the No. 5 seed in Class 2A, is making its first tournament appearance after upsetting top-seeded Minnetonka. Several teams are notable for their scoring. Three teams average over five goals per game, while Dodge County allows less than one goal per game. Eleven teams return from last year's tournaments, including both champions. Warroad leads with 16 state appearances and aims for a fourth consecutive title. The team has not missed a tournament since 2015. Farmington's top four scorers, all freshmen, have combined for 122 points this season.
