In Itanagar, a special awareness camp was held to educate police officers about autism and other disorders. The event took place on Thursday and was organized by the Ayang Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd, in partnership with the local police. Sixty police personnel participated in the camp. They learned how to recognize and interact with individuals who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), special learning disabilities, and Down syndrome. The training aimed to improve the officers' skills during interrogations and investigations. Superintendent of Police Mihin Gambo said the program aimed to deepen officers' understanding of these conditions. He emphasized the need for more empathetic responses in cases involving missing persons or individuals needing special attention. This initiative is part of efforts to promote inclusive policing.
