Škoda launches Kylaq, its first compact SUV in India, inspired by Sanskrit word for crystal
Škoda Auto India has introduced the Kylaq, its first sub-4-metre compact SUV, named after the Sanskrit word for crystal. The design features a bold front grille, LED lights, and a spacious interior with a large boot capacity, but rear-seat comfort is limited. The Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI engine, offering both manual and automatic transmission options. It includes over 25 safety features, making it one of the safest in its class. Bookings will open on December 2, with deliveries starting in January 2025. With a starting price of ₹7,89,000, the Kylaq aims to compete with models like the Tata Nexon and Nissan Magnite. Škoda targets 1 lakh sales by 2026, positioning the Kylaq as a strong contender in India's compact SUV market.
