Skoda unveils 7-seat electric SUV with 435-mile range
An iconic carmaker has shared a sneak peek of its new seven-seat electric vehicle (EV), set to launch in 2026. This model aims to compete with popular family cars like the Kia EV9. It will feature an impressive range of 435 miles on a single charge. The new Skoda EV was previewed in a video during the company's annual results meeting. The design includes slimline headlights and LED lighting, reflecting modern EV trends. Notable features include an illuminated grille and prominent Skoda branding. Measuring around 4.9 meters in length, this vehicle promises flexibility and spaciousness. It is expected to offer up to 340 horsepower and will come with options for both single and dual motors. The car is designed to be a more eco-friendly alternative for families, featuring three rows of seating. While the final design has yet to be revealed, it is likely to share similarities with the Vision 7S Concept shown in 2022. The new EV will be built on the MEB+ platform utilized by many of Volkswagen's latest electric vehicles. This choice will help keep production costs lower. Skoda's sales grew by nearly 7% last year, with global sales reaching 926,600 cars. This puts the brand at a 5.9% market share in Europe, making it the fourth largest brand on the continent.
