SkyShowtime launches new series "Where the Sun Always Shines."

SkyShowtime is set to release a new original series called “Where the Sun Always Shines.” This series is created and directed by Felix Herngren, known for his work on “Sunny Side” and “Bonus Family.” The six-part dramedy features a talented Swedish cast, including Erik “Jerka” Johansson and Rakel Wärmländer. The show was filmed in Mallorca, Spain. It tells the story of Tom and Petra, a couple who have sold their grocery store and are enjoying life in luxury. Their plans change during Tom's 50th birthday when family chaos unfolds. Herngren shared that his own experiences in Spain helped inspire the series, stating there were many interesting stories and cultural differences to explore. SkyShowtime's content chief, Kai Finke, emphasized the platform's commitment to local storytelling in Europe. He expressed excitement about collaborating with Herngren and the cast. The production is handled by FLX, with support from SkyShowtime and Swedish broadcaster SVT. The series is part of a growing list of original content from SkyShowtime, which now includes over 20 titles.
