"Smithsonian in the Gap" exhibit opens in Buffalo Gap
"Smithsonian in the Gap" began on Saturday at Buffalo Gap Historic Village. The six-week exhibit focuses on rural America, emphasizing local traditions in Taylor County and the Big Country region. Each Saturday will feature a new speaker and program. The first event included a reenactment of the Taylor County seat's relocation to Abilene and a presentation on bison hunting. The Taylor County Commissioners Court will meet at the original courthouse on Tuesday to present a resolution. Admission to the exhibit is free, encouraging community participation throughout the event.
