Smokey Bones closes nine locations, future shutdowns possible
Smokey Bones Bar and Fire Grill will close nine locations, reducing its total to about 45. Around 30 of these will be rebranded as Twin Peaks restaurants, a Texas-based sports bar chain. The closures come as Smokey Bones struggles with profitability. The chain had nearly 130 locations at its peak and was purchased by FAT Brands in 2023. In January 2025, Smokey Bones and Twin Peaks became separate companies. Two locations have already been rebranded, showing increased profits. More closures may occur if current locations remain unprofitable.
