SMS Medical College's senior resident seats cut significantly

The medical education department announced new details for senior resident counseling following the PG exam results. SMS Medical College will now have only 139 senior resident positions. This is a big drop from the 318 approved posts. Other medical colleges have also received varying numbers of positions. SPMC Bikaner has 129 seats, SNMC Jodhpur has 151 seats, JLN Medical College Ajmer has 125 seats, GMC Kota has 116 seats, and RNT Udaipur has 122 seats. In total, 1,737 senior resident seats have been distributed among state government medical colleges. Completing a senior residency is necessary for anyone wanting to become an assistant professor. The online application process and choice filling will run from March 20 to March 25. Final seat allocations are expected on March 31. The reduction in seats at SMS Medical College has led to protests from resident doctors. They believe that cutting the seats from 318 to 139 is unlawful and unfair. The association of Jaipur resident doctors recently met with DME authorities to express their concerns and ask for more senior resident positions.
