Snapchat users can now remove "My AI" feature
Snapchat users who are frustrated with the app's AI feature, "My AI," may want to learn how to disable it. This chatbot, which allows conversations and answers questions, has been a source of annoyance for many since its introduction in April 2023. My AI is designed to enhance user experience but can be intrusive, appearing at the top of the chat list. Users must subscribe to Snapchat Plus to completely remove it, which can feel like an unfair requirement for those who do not wish to pay. Despite complaints, Snapchat has rolled out more useful AI features, allowing users to perform tasks like taking age-filtered selfies or translating text from images. Some users find value in these enhancements, but others prefer fewer distractions in their app experience. To block My AI from viewing your Stories, go to your profile, open Settings, and find “View My Story.” From there, you can customize who can see your new Snaps, including blocking My AI. Additionally, you can delete your data from My AI by visiting the privacy settings. If you're a Snapchat Plus subscriber, you have the option to completely remove My AI from your chat feed. This tier offers perks like generative AI tools, which some users may find appealing. The growing presence of AI in social media continues to divide opinions. While some embrace the technology, others want to avoid it altogether. As AI becomes more integrated into apps like Snapchat, users will need to decide what works best for them.
