"Snow White" leads U.K. and Ireland box office
Disney's "Snow White" topped the U.K. and Ireland box office this weekend, earning £3.8 million ($5 million). This new version of the classic fairy tale led a strong group of new movies as audiences gear up for Easter. In second place, "Ne Zha 2," an animated sequel from China, brought in $1.6 million. This film continues the story from its 2019 original and has become a huge success, grossing over $2 billion worldwide. Universal's "Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy" held the third spot, making $1 million in its sixth weekend. The romantic comedy has now earned a total of $57.6 million, the highest for any U.K. release this year. In fourth place, the thriller "Black Bag" earned $953,565, while "Mickey 17," a sci-fi film by Warner Bros., came in fifth with $946,757. It has now collected $7.6 million over three weekends. New releases will keep U.K. and Ireland cinemas busy this week. Starting March 26, a concert film featuring Imagine Dragons will be shown. The following days will bring a variety of films including comedy, drama, and documentaries. Upcoming films include "Mad Square," "A Working Man," and a comedy about women war artists. Additionally, "Sikandar," a Hindi action film leading into the Eid festival, is expected to draw large crowds.
