Software engineer scams Rs 5.4 lakh in Kalaburagi

A software engineer in Kalaburagi has lost Rs 5.4 lakh after being tricked by fake customs officials. Nirmala Bhimashankar Patil, 24 years old, reported the fraud to the CEN Police Station. The scammers contacted her through her mobile phone, pretending to be customs officers from Foreign Post Offices. They also put her in touch with people claiming to be Sunil Dutt Dubey and Dr. Balasingh Rajput from the police. They tricked Nirmala into believing that a suspicious parcel was linked to her. This package supposedly included 3kg of cloth, 3 pairs of shoes, and 15 grams of MDMA being shipped from India to China. They convinced her to transfer Rs 5.42 lakh from her bank account for a verification process. Nirmala was promised that her money would be returned, but it was never given back.
