Son kills father for insurance money in Bulandshahr

A man from Bulandshahr was arrested for allegedly killing his father last year to claim insurance money and pay off debts. The father, Prakash Bosak, was found dead in Jalalpur, about 26 kilometers from where he was killed. The incident took place on August 8, 2024. Initially, the son, Santosh, reported that unknown men had murdered his father. However, police investigations revealed that Prakash was killed in a remote area of Kasna. The case was later moved to Ghaziabad. Authorities became suspicious of Santosh due to inconsistencies in his story. It was uncovered that he planned the murder to access his father's life insurance policies worth around Rs 20-25 lakh. The two had bought a house together in 2022, and when repayments became difficult, they took a larger loan that was tied to Prakash's insurance. Santosh's business was struggling, which prompted him to consider his father's life insurance benefits. On the day of the murder, he lured his father to a quiet place under the pretense of a trip from Delhi. He then killed Prakash with a kitchen knife and injured himself to make it look like he had been attacked. After disposing of the weapon, Santosh contacted his family and claimed the insurance money without informing them of his actions. The police noted that his insurance claim was approved despite strict verification processes for suspicious deaths. Santosh is now facing murder charges, while the investigation continues.
