Sonos cancels plans for MagSafe speaker for iPhone due to technical challenges
Sonos planned to create a MagSafe speaker for iPhones aimed at attracting younger customers. The design was similar to Apple's old MagSafe Battery Pack but thicker, featuring advanced sound technology from its 2022 acquisition of Mayht Holding. However, the project was canceled due to technical challenges and limited market appeal. Recently, Sonos reduced its workforce by 12 percent, possibly to enhance its attractiveness for acquisition. Despite these setbacks, Sonos continues to innovate in audio. Meanwhile, various mini MagSafe speakers are available, though they may not match the sound quality of the iPhone's built-in speaker.
