Sony sues CBS over distribution of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy
Sony has filed a lawsuit against CBS, accusing the network of mishandling the distribution of "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" The suit claims CBS has engaged in self-dealing and failed to maximize revenue from the shows, particularly after recent layoffs. The lawsuit alleges CBS entered unauthorized deals in New Zealand and Australia, pocketing $3.6 million in fees that should have been shared with Sony. Sony also claims CBS has prioritized its own shows over the game shows, affecting their market performance. CBS has denied the allegations, stating that it has been a successful distribution partner for over 40 years. The network asserts that it has fulfilled its contractual obligations and looks forward to defending itself in court.
