Sooraj Barjatya felt intimidated by Amitabh Bachchan's presence
Sooraj Barjatya, a renowned Bollywood filmmaker, recently shared his experiences working with the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. Barjatya, who won the National Award for Best Director for his film Uunchai, found the experience quite overwhelming. In a recent interview, Barjatya described Bachchan as "scary." He admitted that he took two anxiety medicines before he pitched Uunchai to him over a Zoom call. He explained that Bachchan listens intensely without blinking, which can be intimidating for anyone. Barjatya had been developing Uunchai since 2016, but he never thought he would direct it. After feeling a strong connection to the story, he decided to take on the project, despite it being different from his usual family-oriented films. Convincing Bachchan to take the lead role was his biggest challenge. Barjatya acknowledged the pressure he felt when presenting the film. However, their collaboration led to a critically acclaimed result, contributing to Barjatya receiving a top honor in Indian cinema.
