South Island flights disrupted by severe weather conditions
Severe weather is disrupting flights in New Zealand, particularly affecting the South Island and Wellington. Strong winds and heavy rain are expected, with some areas facing up to 200mm of rain in 20 hours. Temperatures in the South Island are dropping dramatically, with some regions seeing a decrease of up to 21C. In contrast, the North Island is experiencing milder weather, with fine conditions and temperatures in the high 20s in Hawke’s Bay.
