Southern California wildfire destroys 132 structures as firefighters battle strong winds
A wildfire in Southern California, known as the Mountain Fire, has destroyed 132 structures and damaged 88 more since it began on Wednesday. The fire has spread to 32 square miles and is only 5% contained, with 10,000 people under evacuation orders. Firefighters are working to control the blaze, aided by forecasts of easing winds. The fire threatens around 3,500 structures in Ventura County, particularly near Camarillo and Santa Paula. Ten people have suffered non-life-threatening injuries. California utilities have shut off power to nearly 70,000 customers due to high fire risks. Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in Ventura County as the fire continues to grow in a region prone to destructive wildfires.
