Southern Railway starts summer train services in Nilgiris

Southern Railway has announced special train services for the Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) this summer. These services are aimed at tourists visiting the popular hill station. Starting March 28 and running until June 7, the summer special train from Coonoor to Udagamandalam will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. The train will leave Coonoor at 8:20 a.m. and arrive in Udagamandalam at 9:40 a.m. For the return trip, it will leave at 4:45 p.m. and return to Coonoor by 5:55 p.m. Additionally, another train will run from Udagamandalam to Coonoor on Fridays and Sundays. It will depart at 2:50 p.m. and reach Coonoor by 3:55 p.m. The return journey from Coonoor will leave at 9:20 a.m., arriving back in Udagamandalam at 10:45 a.m. Moreover, three round-trip joy rides will be available daily between Udagamandalam and Ketti on the same Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. This schedule will also last from March 28 to June 7, providing more options for visitors.
