Southmoreland's Etling hits two homers in comeback victory

Southmoreland's Makayla Etling shined in a thrilling softball game, hitting two home runs, including a key two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth inning. This helped her team come back to defeat Latrobe 12-11. Taryn Hollis also contributed with three hits, while Latrobe's Macie McHugh had a standout performance with three hits and four RBIs. In other softball matches, Bethel Park edged out Patrick County with an 11-10 victory, led by Audrey Campbell's four hits and a home run. Hopewell won decisively against Sto-Rox, scoring 15 runs to zero. In a tight game, Inspiration Academy from Florida beat Elizabeth Forward 11-5, with Avery Bouquin hitting a home run. Shenango celebrated a no-hitter victory over South Side, while South Park secured a win against Serra Catholic. Upper St. Clair won 6-5 against Western Beaver with a walk-off triple. Washington dominated Avella with a score of 20-2, and West Allegheny achieved a no-hitter win against Ambridge. In baseball, Canon-McMillan defeated Trinity 9-7, thanks to Collin Yeager's home run. Carlynton rallied in the final inning to win against McKeesport 8-7. Chartiers-Houston beat Fort LeBoeuf 8-3, and Eden Christian's Noah Emswiler struck out 15 batters in a win over Laurel. In boys lacrosse, Hempfield claimed an 8-6 victory over Trinity. In girls lacrosse, Franklin Regional edged out Norwin with a close score of 9-8.
