Southwick Land Trust launches free mushroom lecture series

The Southwick Land Trust is hosting a free lecture on mushrooms on March 26, 2025. The event will take place at the Bar Shoppe located at 106 Point Grove Road in Southwick, starting at 6:30 p.m. This lecture, titled “Mushrooms, Mushrooms, Mushrooms!” features fungi expert Jonathan Kranz. Kranz is the vice-president of the Boston Mycological Club and a board member of the Pioneer Valley Mycological Association. Attendees will learn about various fungi found in New England, including which are edible and which are poisonous. Kranz will discuss how to identify different types of mushrooms based on their shapes, sizes, and colors. The presentation will include a question-and-answer session and refreshments will be provided.
