SpaceX launches 22 Starlink satellites in record-setting mission from Florida
SpaceX launched 22 Starlink satellites on Saturday from Cape Canaveral, Florida. This marked the company's 100th Falcon 9 mission in 2024 and set a state record with 73 orbital launches this year. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 5:47 p.m. EDT. The first-stage booster, which has flown 18 times before, successfully landed on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. This launch is part of SpaceX's ongoing efforts to expand its Starlink satellite network. So far, 66 of the 100 missions this year have focused on deploying these satellites.
