SpaceX launches Starship megarocket from Texas in test flight with Donald Trump in attendance

SpaceX launched its Starship megarocket from Texas in a test flight aimed at safely returning both the Super Heavy booster and the Starship capsule. The launch was attended by Donald Trump, who watched the event live. The Super Heavy booster did not successfully return to the launch pad and instead splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico. SpaceX announced a "no go" for the booster catch shortly after liftoff. The Starship capsule is designed to carry astronauts to the moon and Mars. It will attempt a controlled descent in the Indian Ocean and reignite one of its engines during the mission.
