SpaceX prepares for Starship Flight 6 launch after completing final tests
SpaceX is set to launch Starship Flight 6 on Tuesday after completing final tests, including propellant loading. This flight will attempt to catch the Super Heavy booster and land the second stage in the Indian Ocean, similar to Flight 5. Unlike the previous flight, Flight 6 will test an in-space engine reignition and new flight profiles to assess the spacecraft's endurance. The launch was moved up a day due to weather conditions, marking a quick turnaround since Flight 5 in mid-October. The upper stage Starship will reenter at a steeper angle and feature modified heat shield tiles for testing. Future flights will include a second-generation Starship with enhanced features, aiming for successful catches with the launch tower arms within six months.
