Sparking Clog pub reopens with two distinct areas
A pub in Greater Manchester has reopened after a major renovation costing over £400,000. The Sparking Clog in Bury has introduced a new “Two Door Pub” concept, dividing the space into two different areas: a lively bar for locals and a cozy family lounge. The renovations included a refreshed bar area equipped with large 4K TVs and access to sports channels like TNT and Sky Sports. General Manager Gary Hanmer expressed excitement about the updates, inviting customers to enjoy the upcoming summer sports events. To celebrate the reopening, staff member Andy Kay was honored as the pub's community hero and pulled the first pint. He has been a popular figure at the pub during his four years of service. The Sparking Clog remains dog-friendly and features a beer garden, allowing guests to choose between indoor and outdoor dining. The pub plans to host various events, including children’s discos on March 22 and March 29. The pub will continue to serve its popular menu items, such as hand-battered fish and chips and southern fried chicken burgers, along with a kids' menu and sharer dishes like loaded fries and nachos. The Sparking Clog officially reopened on March 14. For more details, visitors can check their website or Facebook page.
