Special Cell officers reportedly stalked gangster before murder
Nadir Shah, a gangster-turned-businessman, was shot and killed outside a gym in Greater Kailash-1 last September. His murder has raised serious questions about the involvement of the special cell of Delhi Police, who were close by at the time. Investigations revealed that two officers from the special cell met with Shah just days before his killing. On the day before the murder, senior officers from the special cell were also seen near the gym. At the time of the shooting, other special cell personnel were present inside the gym and nearby, yet they did not prevent the attack. The local police were not allowed to investigate the case, which has caused suspicion about the special cell's motives. Critics argue that the case should have been handled by the local police or the crime branch due to potential conflicts of interest. Delhi Police stated that the meeting between counterintelligence officers and Shah was unrelated to his murder. They claimed the officers were in the area for another investigation involving a security threat. However, many officers involved in the case have since been quietly transferred out. Despite police assurances that the investigation was conducted properly, multiple sources suggest there was prior knowledge of the shooting. They claim there is evidence that contradicts official statements about the special cell's awareness of the situation. As the investigation continues, the circumstances surrounding Shah's death remain unclear.
