Spider-Man impersonator steals $10K in trading cards
A man dressed as Spider-Man has been arrested for stealing $10,000 worth of trading cards from a store in Fairfax, Virginia. This unusual crime took place on March 16 at Gaming Giant. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Joel Brown, first visited the store to look around. He returned later that night wearing a full Spider-Man costume. Brown allegedly broke down the front door and stole various collectible cards, including Pokemon and Dragon Ball. The store owner expressed their disappointment on Facebook, stating that they were “devastated” by the break-in. They shared pictures of the suspect, which helped the police identify Brown a few days later. He was charged with burglary and taken to jail but was later released on bond. This incident adds to a growing trend of card thefts, with thieves using increasingly bold tactics to steal valuable items. Police are encouraging anyone with more information about the theft to reach out to them.
