Spieth struggles late at Valspar Championship, Florida

Jordan Spieth had a good start in his second round at the Valspar Championship, reaching 5 under par at one point. He was 2 under for the tournament and only three shots behind the leader. This was a strong improvement after his first round of 3 over par. However, things took a turn for the worse on the sixth hole, which was his 15th of the day. Spieth hit his tee shot to the right and struggled to get his ball close to the green, taking two extra swings. He then missed a short putt for bogey, resulting in a double bogey. To make matters worse, Spieth bogeyed the par-4 ninth hole despite hitting the fairway. He finished his round with a score of 2 under 69, which placed him at 1 over par for the tournament. This score left him on the projected cut line when he finished. His playing partner, Justin Thomas, also faced a challenging situation at 1 over, after scoring 73 and 70 in his first two rounds.
