Spiritbox tops Hard Rock Albums chart with 'Tsunami Sea'
Spiritbox has claimed the top spot on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart with their new album, "Tsunami Sea." This marks their second No. 1, following their previous success with "Eternal Blue" in 2021. In the week ending March 13, the album earned 22,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., with 16,000 coming from actual sales. Notably, the vinyl release contributed 10,000 units, placing "Tsunami Sea" at No. 3 on the Vinyl Albums chart. The band, led by Courtney LaPlante, has made significant strides in the music industry. In addition to their top albums, they also reached No. 5 on the chart with their EP "The Fear of Fear" in 2023. From "Tsunami Sea," nine out of 11 songs charted on the Hot Hard Rock Songs list. The lead single, "Perfect Soul," has re-entered the chart at No. 9, thanks to a surge in streams and radio play. This achievement sets a new record for a woman-led act, with the most concurrent appearances on the chart since it started in 2020. The previous record was held by Evanescence, which had four appearances. "Perfect Soul" has also gained popularity on Mainstream Rock Airplay, reaching its highest position at No. 17 recently.
