Squirreled Away is a cute survival game launching March 28
A new indie game called Squirreled Away is gaining attention as a charming survival game in 2025. Developed by Far Seas and published by Amplifier Studios, this game allows players to step into the tiny paws of a red squirrel. In Squirreled Away, players help various forest animals solve their problems. You collect resources like pebbles and twigs and craft tools for survival. The game features an adorable mechanic where your squirrel can meditate to unlock new recipes after finding new materials. Every island has Golden Acorns that, when collected, restore Squirrel Sanctuaries and improve your stamina. A free demo is available now on Steam. It allows players to explore the first island, meet new squirrel friends, and complete quests. There’s also a sneak peek of the second island, where players can use a “Squirrel Vision” feature to discover more characters. Although players can’t access everything yet, they get to chat with a helpful seagull named Lotta Land. Players can also build tree bases, which fits the squirrel theme. The building system is user-friendly, making it easy to create structures as long as you have enough resources. Overall, Squirreled Away aims to mix relaxation with survival fun, and fans are encouraged to try the demo ahead of the full release on March 28.
