Travelers using State Route 167 (SR 167) in Auburn Valley should be aware of significant closures this week. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is working on improvements that include installing overhead signs and toll gantry structures. From March 17 to March 22, drivers can expect up to two lanes closed on southbound SR 167. This closure will affect the stretch between 84th Avenue South in Kent and 24th Street East in Sumner. The closures will occur nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. On March 19 and 20, all southbound lanes of SR 167 in Auburn will close overnight. The closure will be from 15th Street Northwest to SR 18, starting at 11:59 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. Additionally, from March 20 to 21, all lanes of SR 167 in Pacific will be closed overnight. This closure will run from Ellingson Road to Stewart Road Southeast/Eighth Street East, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Detours will be set up during these closures. The SR 167 Corridor Improvements Project will continue throughout the year. It is expected to be completed by January 2026.
