St. Francis de Sales High School hosts successful holiday food distribution for over 700 families
St. Francis de Sales High School hosted its first Christmas Extravaganza, attracting over 700 families, more than double the expected turnout. The event featured food, toys, and Christmas trees, highlighting the community's need for assistance. The school plans to open a new student-run food pantry soon, which was delayed due to electrical issues. This initiative follows a partnership with the Greater Food Depository, responding to increasing demand for food support in the area. Last year, the school collected 300 toys for local children; this year, they gathered over 1,500. The event included activities for children and meals provided by community partners, emphasizing the school's commitment to supporting families during the holidays.
