Star Wars memorabilia valued between £1,500 and £2,000

A guest on Antiques Roadshow recently discovered that his Star Wars memorabilia is worth a lot more than he expected. The show was filmed at Swanage Pier Seafront, where expert Mark Hill examined the items. The collection included a perspex star with the famous phrase, "May The Force Be With You," along with two Christmas cards and an invitation to a special screening of "The Empire Strikes Back" from 1980. The guest explained that his mother had a connection to the film's producer, Gary Kurtz, through her work as a complimentary therapist. Hill expressed excitement about the memorabilia's significance. He explained that the star was given to crew members as a souvenir, and the Christmas cards featured a signature from Ralph McQuarrie, the designer of key characters like C3PO and R2D2. However, he also noted some damage to the items, including chips on the star. Despite the condition, Hill estimated the collection could be worth between £1,500 and £2,000, leaving the guest surprised and speechless. He admitted he had never realized the items had such value. Hill jokingly suggested that having such rare memorabilia on a desk would be a great conversation starter. Antiques Roadshow continues to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
