Kyivstar, Ukraine's top mobile operator, has partnered with Starlink to offer direct-to-cell satellite services. This technology will allow phone signals to be sent directly from satellites to smartphones. Ukraine will be among the first countries to receive this service. Kyivstar plans to launch messaging functionality by the fourth quarter of 2025. Starlink, owned by SpaceX, has already been providing internet connectivity in Ukraine. It launched its first satellites with direct-to-cell capabilities earlier this year.
