STARLUX Airlines has the world's youngest fleet age
STARLUX Airlines from Taiwan has been recognized for having the youngest fleet in the world, earning the ch-aviation Youngest Aircraft Fleet Award for the second consecutive year. As of February 26, 2025, its fleet consists of 26 aircraft with an average age of just 2.62 years. STALUX operates modern planes like the Airbus A321-200neo and A330-900. Following STARLUX are KM Malta Airlines, flyadeal, Flynas, and Arajet, which have also invested in newer aircraft. KM Malta Airlines, starting operations in March 2024, has eight Airbus A320neos, averaging 3.5 years in age. Flyadeal, a low-cost carrier from Saudi Arabia, has an average fleet age of 4.9 years. It recently joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and operates over 40 aircraft. Flynas, another Saudi airline, ranks fourth for its young fleet age, with a focus on low-cost travel and plans to expand its fleet significantly. Arajet from the Dominican Republic is notable for its fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, positioned as a low-cost carrier since its launch in 2022. The aviation industry is seeing strong growth. As economies improve, more travelers are accessing affordable flights. In 2025, global airline revenues are expected to exceed $1 trillion, showing a profit increase despite rising operating costs. Airlines in Europe and North America are notably benefiting from these trends, projecting higher profits per passenger in the coming year.
