Staten Island girls' basketball list adds two new members
The Staten Island girls' basketball season for 2024-25 has concluded, and the 1,000-point scoring list has seen exciting updates. This year, two new players have joined the elite club: Molly Keane from St. Joseph Hill scored 1,446 points, and Brianna Caliri from Moore Catholic achieved 1,386 points. St. Joseph Hill now leads the Island with 17 players on the 1,000-point list. In addition to the newcomers, three returning players made significant jumps on the all-time scoring list. Angelina Hodgens from St. Joseph by-the-Sea and Jordanna Schrecker from New Dorp both surpassed 2,000 career points. Hodgens is now ranked third with 2,132 points, while Schrecker follows closely in fourth with 2,119 points. Ysella Kosic from Petrides is also making waves, now holding the 14th spot with 1,779 points. The updated 1,000-point list includes a total of 155 players. However, no active players are expected to return for the upcoming 2025-26 season. This achievement emphasizes the talent and dedication of these athletes in Staten Island's high school basketball scene.
