Staten Island Mall seeks brands to fill vacancies
Staten Island Mall currently has over a dozen vacant storefronts, impacting the variety of retail options for shoppers. Brookfield Properties, which manages the mall, is actively seeking new brands to fill these vacancies but has not disclosed specific details about negotiations. The mall, which can accommodate over 200 stores, lists around 182 businesses as open. Some new stores are marked as "coming soon," but no timelines have been provided for their openings. Recent closures have increased the number of empty spaces. Brookfield plans to develop surrounding land into seven new retail spaces over the next five years. This project aims to repurpose underused parking lots, but it is still in the early stages and requires approvals from city planners.
