Steelers aggressively pursue Aaron Rodgers after Packers tenure
Aaron Rodgers, a former star quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, is in discussions with several NFL teams about his future. Recently, he hoped to join the Minnesota Vikings, but the Vikings have shifted their focus to developing young quarterback J.J. McCarthy. On Friday, Rogers met with the Pittsburgh Steelers for six hours. This meeting reportedly went well, even though he did not sign a contract afterward. The Steelers are now actively seeking to sign him. They have made a contract offer and are keen to get him on their team. Pittsburgh is not known for having one of the strongest offenses in the league. However, they recently acquired wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, a talented player who could help enhance their passing game. Along with Metcalf, they have George Pickens, another player who can support Rodgers. At this point, the choice about joining Pittsburgh lies with Rodgers. There are other teams interested in him as well. The New York Giants, for example, might still be in the race, despite signing quarterback Jameis Winston recently. Additionally, Rodgers might also consider retiring, which remains a possible option for him.
