Steelers hint at quarterback shift after meeting Milroe
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has hinted he might have a plan for finding a new quarterback. He met with Jalen Milroe, a former Alabama quarterback, for dinner last week. The meeting took place on March 18 and included Steelers GM Omar Khan and quarterbacks coach Tom Arth. This dinner comes as the future of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains uncertain. Rodgers was recently released by the New York Jets after two disappointing seasons. The Steelers, along with the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings, were interested in signing him. Reports suggest that the Vikings may lean toward rookie JJ McCarthy as their first choice for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, quarterback Sam Darnold has moved to the Seattle Seahawks, and Daniel Jones is trying to join the Indianapolis Colts. Although Rodgers has stated he is not in a hurry to make a decision, Tomlin's meeting with Milroe might signal that the Steelers are shifting their focus. Last season, Milroe threw for over 2,800 yards and rushed for a significant number of touchdowns. Earlier this season, the Steelers had two quarterbacks, Justin Fields and Russell Wilson. Now, Wilson is a free agent, and a return to Pittsburgh is still a possibility.
