Steelers release Ogunjobi, saving $7 million on cap
The Pittsburgh Steelers will release defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi, saving $7 million against the salary cap. This decision comes as the team was already $64 million under the cap before trading for wide receiver DK Metcalf. Ogunjobi, 30, was entering the final year of his contract. He had a base salary of $4 million and was due a $3 million roster bonus this week. Ogunjobi joined the Steelers in 2022 and played three seasons with the team. He recorded 1.5 sacks last season and was nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 2024.
